healed by snow

a few inches of snow started filling the surroundings as i made my way through patches of sleet.  despite the piercing chill of the wind, i chose to spend time by myself and see what i could make out of the passing moment at this hour of the day.  the sky was gloomy due to snowfall, but i saw a stretch of light coming from the west.  the sunset still found its way throughout the misty draft, like colored ink profusely dispersing into the vast aqueous winter sky.

feeling something moist inside my right hand, i took my glove off and realized that the healing wound on one of my extremities had started bleeding again.  the minor hemorrhage trickled all the way to the snow-covered earth, leaving lasting marks on the powdery surface.  its red watermark spread like watercolor on a thin sheet of paper, transfusing bright red marks into the icy draft.

i stared at the scarlet mark on the ground, and like the mistakes of yesterday, these marks that came from within me will soon be covered by another icy patch, leaving nothing but enlightened scars in the depths of my past acquaintance.  i know that i would eventually move on and profit from all temporary defeats.  as i left the grounds, the snow stopped falling, and i took a picture of a lone tree standing in the middle of this peaceful glacial memory.  tomorrow the sun will bring our spirits back to life.

man, that was too serious.  to digress, i had tons of fun this weekend.  how’s that for the bright side?  and i’m looking forward to another great year of health, wealth, financial and spiritual prosperity this year.

……..

to the couple who took the tickets, enjoy the show… πŸ™‚
